Since this was the first year that required 16 to go 43ft I am not really sure how to handle 1st year 14. Most 2nd year 14 will be moving to High School and want the 43ft distance. In the past 14/16 have been some what combined. If you have 2 1st year 14 playing against each then there's not a problem we can stay at 40. Stronger team wanting to play up will have to be prepared for 43ft. What is your thoughts????

In my opinion, they should move all 14 U to 43 ft to get them ready for the change sooner. This is required in high school, why wait until you are forced to make the change. Making the change for the first year of 14U would give them a season to adjust and prepare and then the next year when its required they will be ready.

I agree on 43'. My daughter is 13 and practice pitching at 43'. We played 16 and under at Sherwood this last weekend and she done fine. At 43' I can see more ball movement.

Go ahead and make the move. USSSA 13u and up goes to 43' January 1st.

I also read that, in 2011 USSSA will move 13 and up to 43ft. What about ASA? I couldn't find any information if they are planning the same thing.
